Welcome to the Liberty Baptist church web page. Liberty Baptist church was founded in January of 2005 with a vision of reaching out to our community as well as the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been heartening to see how this little church has become a fast growing ministry in the past three years.
On October 1, 2009 Liberty Baptist bought the church formerly known as Grace United Methodist Church and relocated to 9 N. 5th Avenue in Marshalltown. I was born and raised in the community of Marshalltown, Iowa and God has given me a burden to reach this community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is my vision to be used of God to reach out to all cultures throughout this world as well.
Liberty Baptist church offers services in Spanish to those in our community who have come from Mexico and Central America to seek employment in Central Iowa. We have a bus ministry that goes throughout Marshalltown bringing children to our Sunday school and also have a 15 passenger van that is used to pick up those who have no means of transportation. People rides is available for those who have challenges. Call Pastor Mason if you need transportation. Morning and evening services are broadcast live over our local FM radio station The Dove KTDV 91.9 FM. Make sure you tune in if you are unable to attend. We have live audio streaming of our Sunday morning and evening services and our Wednesday evening service to reach people all over the world via the computer.
I write bi-weekly commentaries in the Marshalltown Times Republican and the Tama-Toledo newspaper. The current commentary is found on the commentary page of this website. Older issues are archived for your reading both in English and in Spanish on the All Commentaries page.
Pastor Israel Becerra writes commentaries in Spanish that are in the local Hispanic newspaper and will be added to this website soon.
We support missions in Central America and Africa and invite you to search through the many pages of our website to read about how God has blessed the ministry at Liberty Baptist to include the far reaches of the world.
God put it upon my heart to build a church for someone else long before we would even think about building a church of our own. We donated $12,000.00 to build a church in Nicaragua named after our own Liberty Baptist Church and were able to go to Central America in 2007 to attend the dedication. We have been able to purchase seven acres of prime real estate to construct our church on at some point in the future, only a year after sending the money to build the church in Nicaragua. Stepping out in faith, praying and preaching God's word, reaching out to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, utilizing the strong musical talent we have in the church and giving God all the glory is what the church at Liberty Baptist has done. God has done the rest. God has richly blessed our church and I invite you and your family to come be a part of this growing ministry and join us in our study of God's word and our traditional music with a variety of instruments and singers. Liberty Baptist Church has a strong prayer ministry and is praying for revival in our community and throughout the world. We pray collectively each Monday evening from 7:30 - 9:00 in our homes, each Wednesday evening at 7:00 for prayer and bible study at Liberty Baptist church, and pray each Friday at Fisher Community Center from 12:00 - 1:00 P.M.
